Message :I remember that thread.
:The one thing I do not like is that the brembo's probably fall under the same fate as the akebono's. A fked up brake bias and they are much heavier than stock.

The Akebono's are HUGE brakes with HUGE rotors. The Brembo kits I linked are probably closer to the Stoptech or Brembo GT kits. If you use a 2 piece rotor, that makes a difference. I can't speak to the brake bias, but I'd bet the Evo Brembo's are better balanced for our cars than the akebono brakes.

:A guy on another forum tested the akebono's which are the same size if not bigger than the brembos and they did not yield much better results than stock for whatever reason.

3x is not always better than 2x even when 2x is better than 1x

:In an ending statement he said that he decided to face the fact that the 300zx will never brake as well as a modern car with electronically controlled braking systems and was displeased with the akebonos.

If you said he had tested more than one set of brake upgrades, I'd be more likely to agree with you. The akebono brakes are a bit of an outlier and I think you'd be better off to talk to folks who had Evo Brembo's, Brembo GT & Stoptech kits about how well those work out on a Z32.
